Empowering Voices: AMRAT Sisters Trained in Social Media and Communication Skills

A two-day national workshop on social media and communication skills for members of AMRAT Talitha Kum India was concluded on September 3 and 4, 2025, at Sandesha Foundation, Mangaluru, leaving participants inspired and empowered. Among the participants was Sr. Shaila D’Monte from the community of Jag Prakash Kanya Chatralay, Pansora, who joined sisters from ten states actively engaged in anti-trafficking and safe migration efforts. Together, they learned practical skills in digital storytelling, photography, videography, poster design, reels,  AI tools, and cyber security.

The sessions were expertly led by Fr. Sudeep Paul MSFS, Fr. Edwin Vaz SVD, and Fr. Sunil, who guided the participants through both the technical and creative aspects of using media effectively. The workshop not only strengthened the sisters’ capacity to use media as a powerful tool for advocacy and awareness but also deepened their commitment to giving voice to the voiceless and promoting safe and dignified migration.

Reflecting on the experience, I found this program immensely valuable. It equipped me with practical tools and fresh motivation to use media more effectively in mission work, amplifying the message of justice, hope, and human dignity.
