Spreading Awareness, Building Safety: Anti-Trafficking Drive at Chunel
On 25th October 2025, an Anti-Trafficking Awareness Program was held at Chunel Church, bringing together 45 youth and children from the village to learn about one of today’s most urgent social issues. The event began with a prayer led by the pastor, followed by a warm welcome to Sr. Shaila D’Monte, Sr. Maria Macwan, and Mr. Juliyesh Khristi, who were greeted with bouquets of flowers. The session aimed to educate young participants about human trafficking its root causes, consequences, and ways to prevent it. Through interactive discussions and real-life examples, Sr. Shaila highlighted the importance of awareness, vigilance, and personal safety, urging the youth to look out for one another and report any suspicious activities. Mr. Juliyesh then spoke about the rights of children and youth, while Sr. Maria inspired participants to grow as responsible and value-based citizens. The session fostered a strong sense of responsibility and community spirit among the participants. The program concluded with heartfelt words of gratitude from Sr. Shaila, who thanked the pastor, teachers, and youth for their cooperation and active participation in building a safer, more aware society.
